BRM Raise More Than £175,000 for Derbyshire Macmillan Services
Thanks to the generosity of our clients, we have raised more than £175,000 during our free Will service which is supporting Macmillan and the NGS Macmillan Unit in Chesterfield.
Now in its seventh year, our exclusive partnership with Macmillan enables our clients to make a Will for free during two months of the year.
Instead of paying a fee to BRM, our clients are asked to consider making a voluntary donation to Macmillan, with a recommended donation of just £75 per person.
In collaboration with Macmillan, we’re hosting our 2023 free Wills service from 1 October until 30 November, and it is expected that the partnership will take the total raised to over an impressive £200,000.
Paul Berresford, Executive Director at BRM Solicitors said: “We are delighted to be teaming up with Macmillan again this year to raise funds for a charity that plays such a key role in the Chesterfield and North Derbyshire community.
“We have been working closely with Macmillan for several years. They are a charity very close to our hearts and we hope to build on this year’s success and break the quarter-of-a-million mark in 2024
“We would also like to thank our clients for their generous donations, and we would also like to thank our team for the efforts they put in to our free-will writing campaign year after year.”
Hannah Lumb, Local Fundraising Manager at Macmillan, said: “Every person who takes part in this scheme, your donations will automatically be restricted to fund Macmillan Services based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital, or on Macmillan grants to people living with cancer in the Chesterfield area.
“As a charity, we do not get any government funding and 98% of our income comes from the public.
“The number of people with cancer is growing every day and we want to reach and improve the lives of as many of those people as we can. We couldn’t provide our vital services without the people who support us.”
Thank you again to our clients for their generosity in raising so much money for a service that helps so many people within our region.
