BRM’s Fundraising Campaign Raises £20,000 for Local Hospice
BRM have raised almost £20,000 for its local hospice following another bumper fundraising campaign.
BRM, which has offices in Chesterfield and Sheffield, offered clients the opportunity to make their will for free for an entire month.
In return for the service, people were invited to make a voluntary donation to help fund care for Chesterfield-based Ashgate Hospice.
With a suggested donation of £75 per person, clients helped raise much-needed funds for the hospice.
Laura Law, Legacy and In Memory Officer at Ashgate Hospice, said: “Once again we’re so delighted to have received the support of BRM Solicitors during Make a Will Month earlier this year [2023].
“Writing a will enables us to put plans in place so that we can get on with living and make the most of the time we have.
“It’s an important part of making sure that our affairs are in order while making sure that our loved ones are supported when we’re no longer here.
“Our Make a Will Month with BRM Solicitors gives people a chance to do this for free – in return for a donation to our care, meaning you’ll be helping us support families at a difficult time in their lives.
“We’re so grateful to every single one of BRM’s clients who has made a will whilst supporting us. We wouldn’t be able to provide our care without you!”
The total amount raised by BRM Solicitors following the fundraiser in May last year was £19,749, taking the total raised by BRM’s free wills months to more than £71,000.

“We know the care and support that Ashgate Hospice provides for our community is truly outstanding, so we are honoured to have raised more than £71,000 for them.

Ashgate Hospice must raise £9 million over and above NHS funding in order to fund its services for patients in their own homes and at its site in Old Brampton.
Meanwhile, one in six people are cared for by Ashgate Hospice thanks to money left in wills. This vital income helps to ensure that those with a life-limiting illness can be cared for as the demand for hospice services continues to grow.
